Vitamins can be taken either through multivitamin tablets or by eating vitamin rich foods. Vitamins can even act as good skin treatments. A list of important vitamins required to maintain the skin health is given below.

Vitamin A

This vitamin is necessary for the proper growth and development of skin. It even repairs the damaged tissues and stimulates the renewal of skin. It also plays a major role in strengthening the skin. The ideal sources of this vitamin are milk, egg yolk, carrot, fish oil, liver etc. Vitamin A can even be applied as topical creams to nourish the skin.

Vitamin B

It is essential for the building red blood cells, promote protein metabolism, relieve stress and plays a major role in maintaining the skin tone. Vitamin B1 being an anti-oxidant wards off the toxic substances and also improves the blood circulation to the skin.

Vitamin D

Vitamin E

It is essential for the well being of the skin. It helps to heal inflammations, burns, cuts, sun damages, irritations and moisturize the skin. It also reduces the formation of collagenase, an enzyme that breaks down collagen and results in skin sagging and wrinkling. For vitamin E consume foods like nuts, wheat germ, whole grains, green leafy vegetables etc.
