Acne itself is a grave problem for many of us, which can be treated to some extent. But the acne scars are hard to remove if you do not take immediate action. The acne scars are normally of two types – pitted scars and pigmented scars. The pitted scars appear when the acne causes damage to the interior walls of the skin, creating a pit on the upper layer of the skin.

For pigmented scars the acne part of the skin gets dark pigmentation like red or brown, once the acne has subsided. In both the cases, it takes quite a long time to get back to normalcy. Although the pigmented scars can get back to original skin color in due course of time, but the pitted scars are really difficult to recover. However, if treatment is started at the earliest then you can expect easy and quick recovery.

There are several natural ways to deal with this problem. If your scars are not too deep and not too old, then you can try these herbal remedies to clear of your skin. Sandalwood paste is one of the useful treatments of acne scar. You may use rosewater or even plain drinking water to make the paste and then apply over the scars for keeping it overnight.

Another effective way to treat the acne scars is by applying turmeric paste on the affected area. The raw garlic also works best as a treatment for acne blemishes. In case you cannot find these herbal items, simply depend on the one and only aloe vera, which works in multiple ways for the betterment of your skin.

Other than the natural method, there are a number of artificial methods to erase the acne scars. There are medications and ointments for external usage for dealing with this problem. However, before using any artificial method you should talk to your dermatologist or beauty therapist to know the right method of treatment.

If your acne scars are too deep, then you will need strong medications, whereas for mild scars, these can be too strong. For mild acne scars, you can also buy the bleaching creams over the counter. You need to apply this for at least a month or so, before you see any positive changes in your skin.
