Treating Chin and Jaw line Acne

Acne is a distressful condition in any age. It is all the more worrisome when the acne appears on face especially chin and jaw line.

Acne on the face is not unseemly but also depressing for the people suffering from it.

The only way to get rid of acne is to start an early treatment. Whether you use medical treatments or do home remedies for acne, the key lies in doing it regularly. If you become lax in your acne treatment routine chances are the acne will never completely go and keep showing up their presence.

Many people suffer stubborn acne of the chin and jaw line. To treat acne in these areas it is important to keep them clean. Wash the areas twice daily using an oil free and gentle wash.

People tend to not pay much attention to chin, jaw line and neck when washing their faces. Regular cleansing of the entire face along with neck area will decrease foliage blockage.

Use a cleanser meant for fighting acne. There are many over the counter face washes available for this purpose. If you aren’t very sure about using them then ask your doctor for a subscription.

If it is only mild and occasional acne that you suffer from then using a mildly fragranced face bar will also do.

Exfoliate the acne prone area with a medicated exfoliator. This will help get rid of dead skin cells and promote skin cells regeneration. But take care to exfoliate gently so as not to irritate the already sensitive area. Exfoliation once a day is enough.

Buy medicated acne scrubs. Acne on the chin and jaw line means that these areas produce more oil and hence the skin here is prone to clogging leading to acne breakouts. Acne scrubs are abrasive pads that contain anti acne chemicals like benzoyl peroxide.

Scrubbing the chin and jaw line with these acne scrubs twice a day will keep the oil from clogging in these areas. Less oil secretion would mean less accumulation of acne causing bacteria.

Consult a doctor for acne medication. There are many over-the-counter creams and gels available but it is best to get a diagnosis for acne. The doctor will do some tests, find out the cause of acne and accordingly give you oral and topical anti acne prescriptions.
