Tips for Glowing Skin in Summer

Summer is all about flaunting your well toned body in flowing floral dresses that makes you the envy of all. However, your summer dreams can turn into nightmares if your skin does not behave itself. Instead of flaunting your assets you will be worrying about hiding them. Hence it becomes important to keep your skin fresh and glowing in summers.

Start by exfoliating your entire body including face. Exfoliation will help get rid of all the dead and dry skin cells that you accumulated on the surface of skin during harsh cold winter. Besides, exfoliation will give your skin a freshly scrubbed look that no amount of lotion could. So grab a loofah and your favourite body scrub and step into the shower.

Use a cream scrub instead of liquid scrub. You can buy your scrub from a cosmetic products store or even prepare some yourself at home. Grains like oatmeal and sugar are natural exfoliating agents. Exfoliating your body twice a week will keep it soft, smooth and glowing all year round.

Women who resort to shaving in the summer for clean and smooth legs need to do so carefully. What’s the point of wearing short dresses if you are going to show off nicks and cuts and bruises? Select a razor that is especially made for use by women.

They blades aren’t harsh on the skin and don’t cause razor burns. Instead of using men’s shaving cream or soap for lather, use a shaving lotion. Shaving lotion will not dry your skin keeping it moist and supple. Your conditioner can double up as an excellent shaving lotion when you don’t have some handy.

Summer does not mean that you forget all about moisturizing your body. Keeping your skin moist and hydrated in summers is as important as it is in winters. However, for summers you can select a water based lotion instead of a creamy one.

Water based lotion will be light on your skin but provide you with just the moistening that your body needs in summer. You can also use a moisturizing gel if the idea of lotion does not appeal to you in summer. The trick to applying lotion/gel lies in its immediate application after shower.

Last but not the least don’t forget your sunscreen this summer. And no throw away that leftover sunscreen bottle from last year.
