What happens when a person’s diet is divided in two people? Simple, no one will be fed enough. This will result in lack of required nutrition and therefore incomplete growth and development. Same is the case of your tresses. No matter how much nutrition you provide to the hair, it will remain dull and dry; just because the nutrients are shared.

Have you ever seen the end of your hair strand divided in two or three parts? These are split-ends, a common hair problem. It gives a very ugly look to the overall texture of your hair making them look unhealthy and unkempt.

The main reasons of having split-ends is lack of protein in your diet because protein is vital for hair to grow and shine. Insufficient intake protein results in split-ends and hair breakage. Dust and excessive exposure to the sun are also the causes of this problem.

Your wrong oiling regime may also result in split-ends, as it can deprive the hair of its needed moisturizer and massage. Some people think that oiling is not important in summers. It is completely wrong. Oil massage is required in summers too, but the frequency should be once a week.

Instead of worrying about the problem which will further result in more hair fall, follow some tips. Oil massage your hair thrice a week, followed by a steaming session. This will ensure that the oil is properly absorbed by the roots. Using a good quality hair conditioner is also very important. Always condition your hair after you shampoo them. Use a leave-on conditioner when you have to spend more time outdoor.

This will make a coating on your hair and will work as a shield against sunlight and dust. Regular hair trimming is also crucial, as it will chop off the split- ends; and regular hair cut will avoid them to occur again. Some salons offer special hair trimming mainly targeted for split-ends. Eat a protein rich diet with more egg whites, fish, soya and milk.

Split-ends put and end to your hair growth, so it’s better if you get rid of this problem by following the above said advices.
