Solutions For All Skin Types
Your skin may be oily, dry or normal. We identify the problems that your skin may face and give you the solutions.
Dry skin:
Dry skin needs a lot of moisture. Use a creamy face wash and an intense moisturiser. On the tips of two fingers, take some cream and massage gently into the dry parts of your skin. This improves penetration of the cream, helps blood circulation and allows the natural oils to be secreted.
Dry skin tends to age faster than other skin types. So, take an oil-infused bath or almond oil or jojoba oil in your bath to nourish and soothe your skin.
Normal skin:
If you fall under this category, we must say you’re lucky. You should consider yourself truly blessed. The skin is clear, supple and generally blemish–free. Never forget to cleanse and moisturize your skin before going to bed. Use a toner once a day to ensure glowing skin.
For a natural glow, apply a mixture of lime and honey. Leave it on for 15
minutes and rinse to reveal radiant skin.
Oily skin:
This skin type is prone to blackheads and acne. A gentle oil-and soap-free cleanser is recommended. Avoid soap because while it may give you a squeaky clean feeling, it strips your skin of natural oils.
Oily skin needs to be washed at least three times a day. If dirt is left on your skin for too long, it can clog your pores and cause acne or blackheads. So use a good face wash may be one with scrubbing or exfoliating microbeads. These penetrate into the pores and get rid of all the excess oil and dirt.
Follow with a good toner or an astringent. If your work requires you to stay out of office every day, carry some wet tissues with you to wipe the excess oil on your skin from time to time.
Combination skin:
If you have this skin type, it needs the most amount of care. Half your face, usually the forehead and nose is oily, while the other half of your face is dry.
Combination skin is sensitive, so use a mild foaming cleanser twice a day and a hydrating clay mask once in 10 days. You can also use a facial mist containing lavender or aloe. This keeps the skin hydrated and balances out the oiliness and dryness.
