Skin Discoloration on Face and Neck

Skin discoloration is, perhaps, the most common type of skin disease that can affect anybody. There can be many reasons for discoloration like sun tanning, birthmarks etc. Discoloration can dealt with through bleaching and whitening.

The main causes of discoloration are –

Birthmarks – Skin is discolored from the time of birth in patches of red. They are usually formed due to deformed blood vessels.

Moles – these are brownish black and they are formed due to the coagulation of melanin.

Age Spotsthey appear on the face and hands and are usually caused by aging. They are irregular and larger in size when compared to freckles.

Melasma – they are stains on the chest and face and this condition is very common in women during the final stages of pregnancy or due to excessive intake of birth control pills. Discoloration can also be caused due to the increased production of the hormones.

Vitiligo – it is a rare condition in which there is a loss of skin pigments. If the adrenal glands are not functioning properly or there are thyroid disorders then skin discoloration can easily happen.

Discoloration on Face

It is very important to prevent discoloration here. Excessive exposure to sunlight and aging are the main causes for discoloration on face. Improper lifestyle and unhealthy diet also plays a major role in this. Skin may appear dark also due to increased production of melanin. You can try to get rid of these discolorations through bleaching.

Discoloration on Neck

This type of discoloration can be easily cured and there is no need to feel embarrassed. You don’t need to apply any chemicals nor do you need to undergo a laser surgery or like. The main reason for skin discoloration on skin is UV radiation and the dark patches on the skin are those parts where excess melanin has been accumulated.

The best way to protect yourself is by applying a sunscreen cream but if the condition is grave then you can apply a discoloration cream on the affected portions. However, it is always advisable to consult a specialist as he/she can give you a cream that will contain the necessary antioxidants.
