Rosewater and Glycerin are being used as beauty care products from centuries now. The two are very popular among women of all ages who want to maintain the youth and glow of their skin.
The two are easily available and can be used alone or in combination with other ingredients to take care of the skin.
However, rosewater and glycerin work best when used in combination with each other. Flower oil from rose deeply nourishes the skin giving it a rosy glow and light fragrance.
Glycerin works is an excellent humectant and gently moisturizes the skin without making it oily. A face cream using rosewater and glycerine is ideal to fight harsh winters. The cream is easy to prepare and requires few ingredients.
To make your own rosewater and glycerin face cream you will require 2 cups rosewater, 4 tablespoons glycerin, 2/3 aloe vera gel, 1 teaspoon beeswax, 20 drops of rose essential oil, 10 drops of Vitamin E oil (or gel from 4 Vitamin E capsules) and 2 teaspoon of avocado fruit extract.
Begin by making rosewater. You can also buy a bottle of rosewater available at cosmetic stores but it is best to make your own at home organically. Take dried rose petals from two flowers and put them in a clean jar. Pour boiling water over the petals and close the jar. leave overnight. Next day in the morning, strain the rosewater in a glass bowl.
Throw away the rose petals. Add glycerin, aloe vera gel, rose essential oil, Vitamin E oil, beeswax and avocado fruit extract. Whisk all the ingredients together using a balloon whisk. Whisk until the ingredients blend properly and you get a thick cream like consistency.
Scoop the entire cream into a glass jar with a lid and store in a refrigerator. This is important since the cream does not contain any preservatives. It might spoil if left outside.
For use simply scoop the required quantity in your hands and massage gently on a clean and dry face. This is an excellent cream for use in winters since the moisturizing properties of glycerin, aloe vera and avocado will keep the skin soft and smooth while rosewater and Vitamin E will provide the skin with much needed nourishment in winters.
