Devils Roses or psoriasis has been around for many years. It is an age old disease which could lie dormant for many years and come back with a surge. The disease is wide spread all around the world affecting almost 2 percent of the world’s population.

The disease often appears as thick red patch around a raised portion of the skin commonly near joints like elbows and knees. But the disease can attack any part of the skin including the genitals indiscriminately.

As the skin cell regenerates itself rapidly they grow overlapping the older tissue without going through the normal cycle of growth. Hence the body is unable to shed the skin normally. The new skin grows on top of the older skin causing rough red thick patches accompanied with itching.

This results in skin turning rough and peeling. It is a very uncomfortable condition which socially not acceptable. This phenomenon is not visually appealing and leaves the affected person depressed and socially shunned. The pealing rough areas are called as the psoriasis plaques.
