Preventing Dry Skin
Having dry skin is very bad as it not only affects people physically, but mentally also. The next thing you know after dry skin is that your skin starts peeling and this is very bad visually and also for your skin. So you need to keep your skin smooth and moisturized all the time.
This way it will be healthy, fresh and young looking all the time. First off avoid long showers and keep the frequency to around one shower or bath a day. Spend no more than 10 minutes showering. Use bath oils if possible and avoid the rough soaps at all costs. Use the special ones with moisturizing content in them to avoid getting dry skin after a shower.
If you want to use scrubs while bathing then avoid using the really hard ones; rather make use of towels because even scrubbing with towels a little hard can be very helpful and they won’t hurt your skin.
Be sure to moisturize your skin after a bath in order to replace the lost moisturizer. It is recommended that you use those with Alpha Hydrozy Acids (AHA’s), which is also found in glycerin or petrolatum.
There are certain things you need to remember when either outdoors or indoors.
Outdoors:
incase of cold or windy weather, remember to cover your skin in order to avoid losing the moistness of the skin. During summer months when the weather is quite hot, use sun screens with moisturizer in order to protect your skin from being damaged and dry.
Indoors:
increase the humidity level during winters using a humidifier. Do not make your house too humid as it is bad for the house; rather keep it at a comfortable level so your skin doesn’t get sticky. Using electric blankets should be avoided as they produce dry heat, which dries the skin.
Do not overuse perfumes or deodorants as they dry out the skin. In accordance to your dietary plans, avoid caffeine and alcohol because thee diuretic properties of these drinks causes dryness in the body. Also drink a lot of water to keep not only your body hydrated, but also your skin.
