Dark circles occur under and around the eyes. By definition they are discoloration or pigmentation of the skin. Vasculature inflammation, lack of adequate sleep, allergies and nutritional deficiencies are the primary reasons for the occurrence of dark circles.
It is a very unsightly and unattractive phenomenon. In dark circles the blood vessels under and around the eyes tend to enlarge. Swelling is also possible and evident with dark circles. If you have genetic hyper-pigmentation then it is one of the easiest ones to treat. It is also known that people who are suffering from dry skin are more likely to develop dark circles.
The first step to prevent dark circles from occurring is to keep your skin hydrated by drinking adequate amounts of water. Consistently drink 8-10 glasses of water every day. Buy a sunscreen lotion with SPF 15 or above and apply it on your exposed skin prior to exposing yourself to the sun. This will help you avoid damage and darkening.
Drink tomato juice in order to detoxify your skin. Dermatologists recommend this in order to have healthy and chemical free skin. Always remember to adequately moisturize your skin after a shower and before going to bed every night. This will help keep your skin soft and smooth. Last but not least try and get at least 8 hours of sleep every night. This way you will effectively prevent and avoid dark circles.
