Eczema produces red spots or patches on face, hands and legs in babies. This disorder worsens the skin on scalp and bottom of feet with severe dryness and itching. The scales are formed on baby’s scalp at the age of 1 or 2 months. Normally, these scales disappear as the days pass. But for children suffering with eczema, you need to provide special attention. Eczema can also produce blackheads or bumps on the skin of young children. It leads to the dark brown rashes in the bends of knees and elbows. The eczema among children aggravates rapidly because, children continuously keep on scratching their itchy skin.

How To Deal With Eczema Among Babies

To protect from eczema, provide regular bath to your baby with lukewarm water. Use best quality baby soaps and shampoos for them. After bath, apply moisturizing baby lotion to their bodies. Avoid using skin care products added with unwanted perfumes and chemicals.

Regular massage with warm oil is the effective remedy to maintain skin health in babies. Oil massage not only benefits skin but also helps in making muscles strong.

Use soft cotton cloths for your child. During winter, use baby soft woolen sweaters or clothes made of thick flannel. While going out, make your child wear clothes covering whole body. Do not forget to use cotton hats for newborn babies. Do not use new brand clothes for new born babies. Instead, you can borrow soft used clothes of the children of your friends or relatives.

After you buy new clothes for your baby, wash them two to three times before using. While washing children’s dresses, add 3-4 drops of medicated liquid soap in a bucket of water.

To prevent a child from eczema or any other skin disease, you need to look after your little one’s overall health too. Protect your baby from dust particles, pollens and mold. Keep the child away from unhealthy and unhygienic places.

If a person is affected with any disease or allergy, do not allow him/her to hold your baby or ask to take necessary care before holding a child. Never kiss a baby below 1 year of age on lips or cheeks, rather kiss on forehead.

Frame a diet plan for your child concerning a good doctor. Do not include the substances causing allergic reactions on your baby in this diet. Do not feed young babies with acidic foods. Breast-feeding is highly important for new born babies.
