About Water Blisters
Blisters are mainly composed of blood serum without the blood clotting agents and the red blood cells. When the body detects, damage in the outer skin layer, it sends the blood serum to the damaged area for skin protection. The serum helps in padding the wounds in the skin and prevents it from worsening any further. These water blisters can be formed almost anywhere in hands, legs, or in any parts of the body.
How to Recognize Blisters
Water blister appears on the skin as a water pocket over the skin, which can occur as clusters of blisters or single blister. These blisters come in different shapes and sizes depending upon the wounds. Some of them appear as simple clear pimples above the skin while some appear as huge sagging water pockets.
Causes of Blisters
Some of the common causes of water blisters include skin infections, skin friction against some hard things, chicken pox, Herpes virus infection, electrical burns on the skin, sun burn, skin exposure to heat rays, hot water burns, steam burns, poisons, etc.
Effective Remedies for Treating Blisters
If you want to treat water blisters, fist remove any clothing that covers the water blisters, as the clothing can further irritate the blisters. Before touching the blisters, wash your hands with warm water and disinfectant soap in order to avoid any infection while touching the blisters. Then take a fresh needle and immerse it in alcohol for making it germ free.

Then dampen a wash cloth, and then add a small amount of liquid soap on the cloth. The blistered area can be cleaned using the soap cloth and then puncture the blister using the sterile needle dipped in alcohol. Then push the fluid inside the blister gently towards the puncture until all the liquid has been squeezed out of the puncture.
Then pat the blister with clean gauze. This stage is important, as you should take care not to tear the skin of the blister. Tearing the blister skin might lead to bleeding and infection. Then, to the drained blister apply some broad spectrum antibiotic cream like polymixin B, which helps in preventing infection and cover, the blister area with a gauze pad.

While treating blisters, take care that you do not experience one or more of the following mentioned symptoms like swelling, red streaks, pussy drain, pain, swollen nodes, skin rash, fever, skin heat, etc. All these symptoms indicate that your body has been infected during the drainage process, or your body is showing allergic reactions.
