Saltwater is also an excellent exfoliator and hence saltwater treatment keeps the skin pores clean and keep the skin soft.
How To Make Saltwater Solution
Get the sea salt from any of the nearby shops as normal table salt may irritate the skin. Moreover sea salt contains iodine, zinc and calcium which are necessary to nourish the skin, heal the skin tissues and reduce inflammation.
Get a cup of distilled water and warm it either on stove or in a microwave but don’t make it boil. Add a tablespoon of sea salt to this warm water and mix well. You can also make a paste out of one tablespoon sea salt and distilled water.
How To Apply Saltwater Solution On The Face
You can apply the saltwater paste on the affected areas and keep it for ten minutes and then rinse off. If it’s a salt water solution then soak a clean wash cloth in the solution and squeeze out the excess water.
Now spread the wash cloth on the affected area and allow it to be there for a minimum of five minutes. You can keep the wash cloth for more time if preferred.
If you keep the saltwater for a long period over the skin then it makes the skin dry and chalky. Saltwater makes certain skin dry and flaky which increase the production of oil and even more acne breakouts.
Hence it is ideal to use a moisturizer that is designed especially for acne prone skins soon after saltwater treatment. People with sensitive or dry skin can avoid this alternative acne treatment but those with oily skin can try this to get a good looking skin.
Saltwater treatment may also leave a layer of salt over your skin which may hinder cleansers to work properly to clean the skin. This buildup of salt may then leads to the new acne breakouts. Hence after saltwater treatment ensures that there is no salt buildup over the skin.
