Diet Guide For Healthy Hair

Everyone desires for healthy and beautiful hair. It can be achieved through proper care and exercise but above all, good diet plan is must. Given below is the diet plan for healthy hair.

Green vegetables such as cabbage, spinach, broccoli, beans contain essential vitamins such as Vitamin A; B & C. These vegetables are also rich in minerals which your hair needs the most. Therefore by eating such foods you can keep your hair healthy and prevent hair loss.

Most part of your hair is made up of water. Due to hydration your hair looks shiny and soft. Therefore you should drink at least 8-10 glasses of water. In summer season or if you are a sports person, you need more water. Even though you don’t feel thirsty, you should keep drinking water frequently if you want your hair silky.

Selenium is very essential nutrient for your scalp. You should eat foods rich in it. Garlic and nuts contain good quantity of selenium. You should eat them regularly. Garlic also helps the blood to carry to the hair follicles all the nutrients needed for hair growth.

For the proper blood flow to your hair follicles, and to prevent your hair from breaking, you need protein and iron. Protein also makes your hair strong whereas iron is responsible for supplying oxygen to your hair follicles. You can get these minerals from fish, cheese, milk, soy beans, whole grains, oats etc.

Zinc & copper too are vital or healthy hair. They prevent hair loss. Green vegetables, seafood, nuts, meat, liver contain good amount of Zinc & copper. Kidney beans, lentils are known to be very healthy diet for hair care because they are very good sources of protein, iron, zinc & biotin.

Eggs are rich in protein as well as biotin. These nutrients are very essential for your hair growth and to stop hair loss. Oysters have very high antioxidant properties hence they keep your hair strong, healthy & shiny.


Beef too gives you sufficient zinc for your health care. Carrots, which are full of Vitamin A, supplies necessary nutrients to your scalp and hair follicles due to which your hair fall stops. For hair growth you should also include milk & yogurt in your diet as they are rich in calcium.

Apart from above mentioned diet, you should eat fiber rich fruits daily for your healthy hair.
