Care For Dry Skin

Dry skin is an issue which troubles many people around the world.Dry skin will look rough and will also be prone to cracking and peeling. Itchiness of the skin is another common problem experienced by people having dry skin.

There are many solutions for the problem of dry skin. If you have dry skin, you can follow the below said treatments to tackle the problem.

You can start off by moisturizing your skin daily. The moisturizers form a protective barrier on the skin and will prevent it from loosing water. If you use commercially available moisturizers, then stay away from those brands which contain alcohol as it can lead to your skin drying up even more.

As a remedy for dry skin, you can also treat your skin with milk. Soak a wash cloth in milk and cover your face with it. Do not rub the wash cloth on your face as it can cause damage to your dry skin. Leave it on for 5 minutes and then rinse off. This treatment will make your skin soft and moisturized.

You can massage mayonnaise on the areas of your dry skin to make it moisturized and smooth. Application of Aloe vera gel is another effective remedy for this problem.

You can also apply Vitamin E oil on your skin or take Vitamin E supplements regularly. Vitamin E moisturizes the skin and also takes care of issues like peeling and cracking of the skin.

Avoid using harsh cleansers and soap as they can dry out your skin. Cleansers contain hydrogenated oil which can dry up the skin and thus cause the formation of wrinkles. As an alternative you can cleanse your skin with avocado oil, almond oil or olive oil.

Massage the oils on your face and wash off with warm water. These oils not only cleanse your skin but will also moisturize it and thus make your skin soft and supple.

Do not take long showers in hot water as it can cause your skin to dry up. Use luke warm water while you are showering and try to shower only once a day.

Finally do take of your diet. Include lots of vegetables and fruits in your diet and eat foods which are high in protein and sulfur content. Also drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and moisturized naturally.
