Normally, blisters have clear liquid inside that is known as plasma, but many times people get blood blisters too, where in it is the blood that is there in place of plasma and it can erupt on any part of the body.

Sometimes, it is the diseases like chicken pox, eczema, dermatitis herpetiformis, impetigo etc. that causes severe blisters. Blisters normally do not pain as such but if they are rubbed then they do pain a lot for sometime and leaves you with a burning sensation for long till they get cured.

To prevent blister is not difficult but yes, if you get severe blisters due to any skin related disease then you may need a dermatologist to treat it properly, but otherwise it can be dealt with. And here is how you can fight with a blister. Prevent yourself with excessive friction and keep yourself clean.

For foot blisters, ensure that you wear comfortable shoes that are not tight, clean socks and always apply some talcum on the feet before wearing shoes. In short, keep the skin dry. For face and body blister, using a calamine lotion that is medicated can be really helpful. Also use a good sun block so that the blister does not gets burnt out when you walk out in the sun.

For protection, apply petroleum jelly on the areas where blisters tends to erupt more; like- feet, hands, underarm, thighs etc. Petroleum jelly would help in avoiding friction and you would stay dry, clean and tidy always. Do not press the blister and just keep the surrounding area dry.

Within sometime, the water will dry on its own and new skin will come, without leaving any scar on your skin. So do not worry if you ever get a blister; as its cure is very simple and otherwise it is advised that you must maintain good body hygiene.
